Product Review (submitted on August 31, 2011):
I have been suffering through blackheads on my nose, front cheeks, and chin for years and nothing has ever really worked. I have been using this product for approximately 4-5 weeks, once to twice a week and my blackheads have slowly been "draining" out, and pores have been getting smaller. I'm hoping with continued usage (and implementing the glycolac peel into my routine once every 7-10 days), the results will be even greater. However, I am being realistic and don't expect full disappearance on my nose or chin area just because of the very oily nature in those areas on my face. I did experience moderate peeling, and a chemical burn trailing down the upper part of my laugh line using this product. Nonetheless, this product still gets the full 5 stars since the peeling is nearly inevitable due to salicylic acids chemical properties, and it was my own fault for not being more careful on avoiding contact with my laugh lines. However, I have managed to find a "trick" to stop the gel from oozing down my cheek and coming in contact with them when I apply it: I simply put a thin band-aid over that area. Sure, it may look silly, but it works. Right now I leave the peel on for 4-5 minutes, and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Almost immediately afterwards, I apply Aveda's Intensive Hydrating Masque for 10 minutes to help reduce redness and the peeling effect. After the masque, I do apply my regular moisturizer, Cetaphil, with a few drops of jojoba oil oil from acne.org mixed in. I do cleanse my face before the peel as well using the cleanser from Acne.org for approx. 10 seconds (lathering it up in my hands first before I put it on my face).

Overall, I highly suggest to use this product if you suffer with blackheads. Start using it once a week for a month at night time, then up your application to twice a week afterwards. I don't think it'd be a good idea to do anymore than 3 peels a week with this if you choose to work up to that. Moisturizing is extremely important after the use of this product to reduce the redness and peeling effect; I suggest pure aloe vera or adding jojoba oil to your regular moisturizer. Good luck and I hope it works for you! :)
