Product Description
Quick Overview
This treatment is ideal for oily and acne skin types. Salicylic acid moves easily through the pores, clearing them out while reducing inflammation. This treatment effectively combats acne, leaving a wonderfully smooth and clear complexion. The Salicylic 30ml and 100ml are ideal for full facial applications. For specific areas, or spot treatments, the Salicylic 20 Roll-on would be best.
What is a Salicylic Acid peel?
Salicylic Acid is the new generation of products for improving the appearance of ageing skin. Dermatologists now agree that Beta Hydroxy, Salicylic Acid is a superior exfoliant that improves the appearance of ageing, sun-damaged skin without all the irritations associated with the Alpha Hydroxy, Glycolic Acid. Salicylic Acid Peels are effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improving overall facial texture because it exfoliates both the skin surface and within pores, without all the potential irritations that can be associated with the Alpha Hydroxy, Glycolic Acid." It has been found that Beta Hydroxy, Salicylic Acid is effective with as little as one-fifth the concentration typically found in products containing Glycolic Acid. In a single study comparing a 1.5 percent Salicylic Acid product and an 8+ percent glycolic acid product, the Salicylic Acid product was shown to be a more effective exfoliant.
How does Salicylic Acid Work?
Salicylic acid works in two ways. First, it dissolves the "glue" that binds dead skin cells together on the surface of your skin. By dissolving this glue, Salicylic acid is able to lift these dead cells from the surface to reveal the fresh, new cells underneath. The result is an immediate improvement in the smoothness and radiance of your skin. Second, by lifting the dead cells, Salicylic acid stimulates the living cells in your skin to reactivate the natural renewal process. This natural process becomes disrupted by years of photo damage (damage from the sun and environmental insult). Reactivation of natural renewal will lead to long-term skin health and vitality.

Salicylic Acid
A beta hydroxy acid with smoothing benefits. This is an effective anti-acne ingredient that decreases the abnormal shedding of cells within follicles. This reduces impactions which can cause breakouts and increase the risk of scarring. Salicylic is also an anti-inflammatory.

Peel Instructions
*always refer to peel manual prior to performing actual peel
1. Apply 2-3 ml Salicylic/20 solution to a gauze pad and apply to the face using a gentle rubbing action. Keep the solution at least a quarter of an inch away from the eyes, lips and mucus membranes..
2. For the first treatment, leave gel on skin for 1 minute then remove using cool water. For each subsequent treatment, increase contact time in 1 minute increments, building to 8-10 minute treatments. The Salicylic acid will self-neutralize 8-10 minutes after being applied to the skin. Ultimately, contact times vary depending on individual skin responses. If redness or excessive stinging occurs, wash off immediately.
3. Remove all traces of peel with copious amounts of water. Pay special attention to areas around the eyebrows, behind the ears, and in the creases around the nose.
4. Pat dry with cotton or paper towel (do not rub the skin at this stage).
5. Apply a thin layer of non-comedonic moisturizer (see below).
6. The Salicylic Peel is designed to be used every 2-3 days in conjunction with regular exfoliation and moisturization of the skin.
FDA Guidelines fo the use of Salicylic Acid are:
1. Test any product that contains a BHA on a small area of skin before applying it to a large area. If you use cosmetics with BHAs and experience skin irritation or prolonged stinging, stop using the product and consult your physician.
2. Follow the use instructions on the label. Do not exceed the recommended applications.
3. Avoid using BHA-containing products on infants and children.
4. Use sun protection if you use a BHA product.
Pre-Peel
- Avoid using self-tanners, masks, scrubs or exfoliating agents for at least 48 hours prior to the peel.
- Stop glycolic acid and Retin A/Renova products 48 hours before peel.
- Do not wax facial hair for 48 hours before peel.
- Notify us if you have a history of cold sores, fever blisters or herpes outbreak anywhere on the face prior to the application.
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at lease a week prior to your peel.
Post-Peel
- Avoid exercise and sweating (sauna) for a few hours after the procedure.
- Avoid the use of abrasive or exfoliating sponges until face returns to normal condition.
- Apply a fragrance free moisturizer (Neutrogena facial lotion, or Cetaphil lotion) twice a day. Avoid products containing alpha-hydroxyacids until the skin returns to normal condition.
- Do not peel the skin, pick the skin, scrape or scratch the skin, expose the skin to sun or sun lamps, or use a mask on the skin until the skin returns to normal condition.
- If possible delay the use of make-up for 24 hours, if you must use very lightly.

confused and disappointed

After reading so many positive reviews i was very excited to purchase this peel and have it sent to a place where i reside, to the Middle East. My skin is not sensitive, not sun damaged, ocasional acne and i have no problem tolerating the stinging. I am 38 y.o.and have some uneven skin texture, some pores and slight rinkle around the nose and mouth. these are 3 reasons i wanted to improve with my skin.
Day 1. Applied for 2 min. Slightly red skin all over the face, the lines ( rinkles)skin around the mouth became very red and very pronounced. Next day no reddnes,no peeling at all, just dry skin and very pronounced rinkles around the mouth.
Day 2. 4-5 min. Same results.
Day 3. 10 min. The skin next day around mouth rinkles peeled leaving smooth texture and very red patches and lines. The rest of the face did not peel. Just dry.
Day 4. 10 min. No peeling on the forehead, cheeks, nose. Some peeling on the chin leaving again patches of smooth but red skin. The skin under the chin and neck is very dry- no peeling at all.
Day 5. 10 min avoiding the peeled skin. Nothing on the forehead, cheeks, nose! Just a little dry. The skin under the chin is very dry- no peeling, and the peeled patches around the mouth and some on the chin are soft but red, which i hope will heal.
The instructions says " individual treatment regimens can vary from a daily use to weekly
use, depending on skin tolerance".
Just wonder, if anybody else experienced the same results ( or no results ). I don't want to beleive that all those great reviews were written by people who work for the company.
Any comments or suggestions?

So, I applied the peel yesterday and already this morning I've noticed that the redness around my blemishes has cleared up. I'm peeling only where there was a pimple, so that's good, right? The skin that didn't have acne feels super smooth and looks awesome. I rated it four stars, because I'm waiting to completely clear my skin before I grant this product five of them.

I like this product, though I don't have much to base it on yet. I ordered this on Wednesday, January 6th and it arrived at my door on the 8th! I have adult acne, I just got it about 8 months ago after having flawless skin... blah. It's pretty bad. The doctor wants me to go on Accutane, but honestly, I just can't do that to my body no matter HOW bad my face looks. Anyway, I just applied the peel and I look a little red, but I think I look better already... or maybe I just want to make myself believe that. The peel stung a little, but actually felt really refreshing! I can't wait until I have a few more treatments under my belt.

Don't forget that acne is not just a skin problem, this is also a problem with your overall health/nutrition. I started using the natural vitamins from genuine health multi+glow and perfect skin which is omega3 and to these I added the BHA peel. I also use the biotherm day time skin vivo cream that does not leave any greasy feeling but i added last one only two weeks ago...
It's been about six weeks since i started with vitamins and then added peel and the results are stunning!
Drink a lot of water... i noticed that it makes a difference as well:)

I'll add my kudos here - I've been fortunate to have a peel regime professionally for some years with Glycolic and this peel has had noticeable positive results in texture and tone almost immediately. I use on my face and the backs of my hands too. I'll definitely be re-ordering and I hope they don't change the formula!

Ancient blackheads have just been up and pushing themselves out on their own since I started using this stuff. This after years and years of mediocre results with Retin-A and loads of OTC whatnot. I can't say enough good things about this. Used straight on a cotton ball, it sends pore junk fleeing in terror, and mixing a dash in with my moisturizer daily = no re-clogging.
This was my second purchase from skinlaboratory.com; A+ on shipping to Canada quickly and for a reasonable price.

Wow! Best product for the $$ out there. I have adult acne and scaring. My dermatologisht basically told me I was out of luck. Decided to give this product a whirl, after all what could it hurt. After a single 1 min treatment I had immediate results. I can't wait the improvement after several treatments.

I am in school for esthetics and have the good fortune of having teenagers to practice on. I bought the 20% Salicylic to try on my son who had grade 3 acne. He isn't great about taking care of his skin, so this was going to be a challenge. We started with one layer, once a week for about 6 weeks. It seemed that his skin would flare up for a day or two and then calm back down and as the weeks went by, his skin really changed. I noticed that the flare ups would not be so intense if we only left it on for five minutes. It appears that we really only need him on a maintenance once or twice a month now- if that. Now if only he would exfoliate!
Using this product has been a great experience and I have just ordered two other types of peels. Thanks Skin Lab!

Hi, I'll keep this short in order to avoid being redundant since a lot of people on here have already given in-depth reviews.
But, I too had a positive experience with this product. Shipping was fast--two days, and I saw immediate results after the first (1 minute!) peel: my pores were smaller, and it had already started to fade scars from post-acne. In my opinion, this is one of those products that give you piece of mind because you know you're getting MORE for your money.
Great product from an excellent company. I look forward to buying their glycolic peels in the future as well. 5/5

I have adult acne and I was using this product as directed once every week, but it wasn't doing much so I decided to start using it as a spot treatment and it's working much better that way. I don't have cystic acne anymore, I just seem to get the hormonal acne around my chin and jaw line. I just put a dot on every pimple I have after I wash my face. Then I wash it off after 5 minutes and then put on an oil free moisturizer. It's been working ok, dries out my pimples but they're still pretty red. I get scaring from my pimples (hyperpigmentation) and I've been using the glycolic acid 35% on the dark spots as a spot treatment as well. They're both definitely better than just using face wash and 2.5% SA or BP spot treatments that you can get at the store so I'm happy with it.

I have been using the product for about a year, and generally I really liked it. I would apply it to my face after showering and before bed. I found that applying it after getting out of the shower allowed it to work a lot better.
Some other reviews have said that it did not work for them, and they might have oily skin like me. If you try applying directly out of the shower I'm sure your results will be much improved.
Just be careful to test this if you have sensitive skin. Try it first before you apply out of the shower.
I'm able to use this every day without any problem.
The instructions say to wash it off after 5 minutes, but I'm able to leave it on until right before bed where I wash my face. The first few times I use it I normally get some visible flaking, but its very slight.
The product has a slightly oily feel to it, and this is because of the Salicylic acid being oil soluble, and this is why its supposed to be able to penetrate into the pores.
If I apply to whitehead, by the next morning it is much improved, smaller and less inflamed, less red. I really like this peel.

I just got this stuff last week, the first time ive used this product it burns like crazy, feels like my face getting burn and hot, i can only stand for 2-3 minutes, but when i rinse my face with cold water burns is gone and my face looks clear ,cool, and fresh, i can see lots of peeling now, i still continue use this product and wants to find out the exact results, i will post again after cpls of weeks. thank you Skinlaboratory,by the way the reason i rate this 4 stars cause my skin is very sensitive and burns like hell when i use the product i only leave it for 2 minutes.

I've struggled with acne prone skin since I was 10 years old...Now I'm 26 and STILL have problems, mainly with clogged pores and what seems like too much oil production. After trying any and every product I could get my hands on, I decided to try a peel. I have very sensitive skin, so I was a little weary at first, but the 20% solution has worked great for me so far! The first time I used it I could only leave it on for about 30 seconds. (The stinging was a little more than I had expected.) But even after leaving it on for such a short time I have had great results! My face is not nearly as oily as it was before. I used to get really shiny about an hour after applying my makeup, but now my face looks great throughout the day. And the number of pimples has also dramatically decreased. I would strongly suggest using this product.

I'm very happy about this product and pleased with the company as well. I've now ordered twice from them, and both times my order came within two days! I wanna add, I also like that they are not wasteful with the packaging. I've been upset about that with some other cosmetic companies (cough... Sephora... cough). So they would definitely be my first choice when I decide to order another peel. The card they included had clear instructions, which was nice too.
Now for the peel... I've only been using for two weeks, but my skin is really looking nice already. I do find that it stings a little, usually while I'm washing it off. Do be careful and only leave on for a minute the first time! It's better to be safe with your skin. Still, this is not a really harsh peel that will burn your face off if you leave it too long. I've tried some spot treatments that I left on overnight, and this didn't seem to be a problem.
I've now ordered another peel from them that I'm going to rotate with, since my reading on the internet seems to indicate that different peels will address different problems. But for clearing up acne, this is great! I'm really happy with my skin, and I will definitely order again... probably the bigger bottle next time!

Excellent products. Love the peels and great service. Came with explicit instructions how to use and not mess up. Ater reading several reviews decided to order and try myself. Now I have a peel regimine and can perform my own facials without spending $100 at the spa or esthetician. I recommend these peels to anyone that has had previous peels and cant afford to spend the money.

I got this for my son age 13. Tried everything else on market including expensive brands to no success. This made a noticible difference after only a few days. And noticible lifting the severe scars after a month or so. Now he only uses it for spot treatment.

After years of sun damage and wrinkles forming on my skin, I never thought I could finally find something to help my complexion. Not only did it clear up my acne, but it made my skin feel soft and new. My wrinkles are much less noticeable and my skin looks a lot healthier. Not many products actually work but I'm glad to say that this one did. I'm very happy that I decided to use this product and I recommend it to everyone that wants better skin.

This product is absolutely amazing! I have mild-moderate acne. I always tend to break out in phases. And I hate those dark spots/scars that appear after my acne has disappeared! Usually it takes many weeks/months for those marks to fade!! I have tried numerous products that are supposed to fade those marks (such as Acne Free fade gel, Neutrogena, even prescription cream), but none have worked as well as this Salicylic acid gel peel!!! I received this item about a week ago, and my marks are almost completely gone. Some of the reviews state it takes a while, and I think it totally depends on the severity of acne and scars. I do not think this will get rid of major scars that cause indentations on the skin, but it definitely works to fade those dark marks. I leave it one for about 5-10 minutes morning and night, and follow up with a thick moisturizer/night cream--since it makes me dry out a bit. I am almost at the point where I don't need concealer anymore! Definitely worth the buy!

At first i was skeptical of this acid peel, but changed my mind soon after.
I took before photos to see the change the peel would have on my face, and its only been about 4 weeks, but i will take pics soon of the after results after 6 weeks.
Im 20, male, white, with slightly oily skin, and acne that sometimes turns horrible on me and makes cysts only on cheeks though. One cyst next to my eye and eyebrow left a bad scar.
This stuff does tingle a bit, but very bearable. Used first for 2 mins, and had no effect, upped it to 4, same result. Used the full 8 mins the next day, started to see improvements. I modified the instructions a bit because my skin is used to exfoliations by 10% benzoil peroxide which only made pimples smaller and face a bit dry.
I used every other day for the full 8 mins every time. But i suggest follow their instructions first before adjusting it. No down time here, and no redness like some people mentioned, and i dont apply moisturizer. The skin feels same before and after application, but results can been seen a few hours after the application as well as increased results over 24-48 hours. The company suggests using a moisturizer, so dont take my word for it that you may not need it, so start with that. I started first using this product with a moisturizer but i think it clogged my pores and cause mild acne.
The results i got were:
-Pores got smaller noticeably on the nose, but not as much on the cheeks.
-Face became much more smoother, the scars got blended in(not the major ones thought)
-Face is less oily after application as well as for the next 24 hours or so. No moisturizer was needed for me, as the amount of oil on my skin after use of the peel stayed at a perfect level.
-Face got lighter (can be seen in my pictures), and red spots from old acne lightened up slightly.
-Acne breakout decreased alot. I no longer get acne on my cheeks and forehead. My problem is the nose and chin, mainly the bottom portion of the nose.
Final Comment: I would recommend this product to first time chem peel users. My sister is trying it right now. My skin is not sensitive, so i will be looking for a stronger solution, maybe 30% salicylic, or 35% glycolic. May buy this (in the 100 mL bottle) after i get rid of my red spots to maintain an acne free face.
Ill keep you guys updated with what happens in the next 2 months or whatever because its only been 1 month, and full results may take much longer. btw, i still have half the bottle left after 1 month use.

This product is great.. I've struggled with acne and used pharmaceutical grade gels/creams and pills.. nothing really worked.. but within one 3 weeks of using the product.. I noticed the difference...I've only done 3 applications.. but noticed the scars flattened and less pimples!!! More even skin tone!

I have/had acne on my forehead and nose. I have used everything from walmart brand to proactiv on my face. Nothing has worked. I gave up for a few months and then realized it wasn't getting any better, and I was getting my hair cut and styled to cover my forehead.
Bought this stuff and tried it for 2 minutes as suggested, nothing happened(duh). Waited over the weekend and i didn't see a big change other than peeling around my nose, i used it 3x in a row that Sunday, followed with target brand night cream, the next morning I still had acne, but it was lighter in color and a teeensy bit smaller.
This is not an overnight miracle fix, I have been using this for about 10-15 minutes every day after work, I have also mixed some with my night cream. My face is FINALLY to the point where i don't have to wear makeup, its brighter, rosier and younger looking (i am 21, but my face had started to gray and harden)! I don't even wear blush or bronzer anymore. I feel amazing.
I usually wash my face first and gently use my scrubber to exfoliate with some regular face wash. I apply this stuff for 15 minutes and then wash it off with the face wash again then give it some time to air out and use my night cream.
I also started drinking a lot of water and washing my face in the mornings too. I will buy this stuff again and next time i am adding glycolic acid to my order. I have never been more satisfied.

i bought this item on skinlabo's web site. product works really well, i have rarely acne so i can't tell too much about this concern but i have large pores and i can say that it really works for large pores (at least their appearance, so definitely it worth to try it.
for customer service, i bought item from Switzerland, and one bottle (other bottle was lactic acid) and bottle was broken so i sent email to customer service and wrote them that bottle was broken and they agreed to sent me a new bottle. It's really nice.

So, i just purchased this product and arrived yesterday. I NEVER had a chemical peel in my life, so i was really careful with the product. I didn't put the peel on my cheek, i wanted to try the acne prone area: Forehead & Chin first before i proceed. Well, i put it on for 1 min and washed it off with cold water. it feels really cool and refreshing when the product is on my face. No pain or sting at all. After that I rinse it out really well with cold water. Amazingly, the product doesn't try up your skin right away. It just creates like a real thin layer, then i applied moisturizer and went to bed! This morning i woke up, no peel... feels the same. thats why i don't know if this product is really working yet. I need more time to tell. But it does feel really good when its placed on your skin. Think about it! Most acne clearing gels have 2 % salicylic acid ingredients, this has 20% ... so, it has to work in the long run. i'm really optimistic! Will update soon!

After 5 uses, no significant sign of improvment. I love the refreshing feeling of the peel after its washed off. Should i be using this product every 2-3 days ? I'm also using the Glycolic Acid Peel 35% which i feel does create an overnight smoother skin texture.

Normally I don't write reviews, but this product is totally worth it, first the shipping was super fast, I ordered it on April 29th got it in the mail day before yesterday May 6th, really impressive because I'm in Toronto Canada.
I tried it last night in my face and my back, I have really bad acne scars , I have a hormonal problem and even thought my acne is gone the scars were really bad.
It was amazing, it's just the first time and my face looks way better, I can't notice any changes in my back so far, but I'm hopping for it to clear too.
Anyway don't think it twice, I don't know why I didn't try this before, I was contemplating getting laser done, but this seams to be an easy fast and inexpensive way to solve my problem.

I bought the larger bottle this time because I have confidence in the product and I'm extremely pleased with the results that I achieve. My skin feels so much softer right after using and it has gradually improved the overall texture of my skin after multiple uses. I have a busy schedule so I don't always remember to use this peel, but I'm very satisfied with the results so far.

Quick service. Tried the product, but havent seen any dramatic changes. I had a profeessional treatmentin the past & the salicylic acid frosts up when it spontaneously de-activates. This didn'thappen with this product. The company suggests 6 treatments. I will continue to try it & see what happens.

Wow, this stuff is great. I had no idea a treatment so simple could be so effective (for periodic cystic acne on cheeks). Skin less oily too. Once a week, and skin is so much better. (I wouldn't use more than once a week though). Wish I had heard about this years ago.

No New Breakouts!

This product will do a great job However, I wish I would have ordered a greater solution like 35% instead. I have only done one treatment and so far I have had fewer breakouts. The instructions say to wait 7 days before doing another treatment. Im going to do another treatment this week and hopefully I will see more results with my blemishes. I didn't get peeling at all NOR burning and this is why I believe I need a stronger solution. Overall this is a great product!

This is the best exfoliant you can buy especially if you have oily/acne-prone skin. It doesn't just leave your skin significantly polished and smooth, but it also treats pimples since salicylic acid has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. Just be careful not to leave the lotion on your skin for more than the prescribed time - 5 minutes. Also, it can cause nasty boils if it touches open wounds/minor cuts. Overall, I prefer this to any kind of cosmetic scrub or exfoliant (and i've tried many, including high end ones like estee lauder, clinians, philosophy and la prairie), and it's great to use when my skin is particularly oily or congested.

This is an effective, helpful product for my skin problems. The four star rating, instead of 5, is because the product is not so much a gel. It runs somewhat which is a problem if you're standing up in front of the bathroom mirror. This stuff is not ok to get in your eyes, nostrals, or mouth. A bit thicker would help.
I now keep several small, clean cloths at hand to stop any flow toward the wrong areas. It increases my stress.
Also, my skin alert system says this is not nice stuff. When my skin gets hysterical, I rinse it off. The instructions say to 'rinse with copious amounts of water'. That is all more stess/distress than I expected from the manufacturer's description.
I will continue to use this product. I'm used to looking a good ten years younger than I am. This product is the only thing that seems to have the potential to remove these growths completely. I have had them frozen by a dermatologist. Freezing didn't remove the entire growth on the larger ones and the smaller ones that were frozen left big, discolored circles.
This product is effective, cost effective, and less painful than freezing by a doctor.
I'm 58 and have seboreic dermatitis. More specifically, I have tags on my neck and wartish type growths on my face and chest. My skin is exceptionally sensitive. No acne. I have excema. My skin tends to be dry and extremely sensitive.
My skin has forgotten how to exfoliate on it's own. That is difficult if you have sensitive skin.
The Salicylic Acid 20% Gel Peel is removing the wartish type growths on my face and some lines and wrinkles. None of them are totally gone yet. There is a 70% decrease in the size of the growths. The deep wrinkles are about 35% less deep. I've used it 3 times (once a week). I think it will remove all of these growths in time. I will update regarding my progress as time goes by.

Shipment was fast and the peel arrived early (in perfect condition). I've used the feel for 6 - 7 times already. I noticed my pores are smaller than they used to be. Acne shrunks quickly and old scars diminished. The colour of my skin becomes even which makes it easier for me to apply make up. However, acne problem worsens after the third peel. I thought maybe it's got to do with the fact I was using a day cream that contains Lactic Acid. So I stopped using it. Yet my acne problem doesn't improve at all. I used to have a mild occasional acne problem but now it looks as if I'm going through puberty again! So, I don't know what went wrong. I'm still going to use this peel though for I'm hoping my condition will improve eventually.

I have been using this product for about a month now and I must say I have seen positive changes! I still have persistent acne on my right cheek but once I apply the peel it starts to dissapear fast. This product has shown positive signs clearing the dark spots on my face too. I have spent so much money on many products including proactive but this works far much better! I hope I continue to see positive results so I can have a spotless and healthy skin once again. I would reccommend this product no doubt. Also, I have dark skin and I sometimes use it more often than advised(don't do it because I do). Goodluck!
March 25th- Still have acne but they have decreased in severity. I Still have dark spots but since using this peel, they have continue to lighten. I am still breaking out and changes right now seems slow so I'm thinking of buying Lactic acid peel. I'll give y'all an update later. I would still recommend this product, I just thought by now, I'd have a flawless face.

First off, Skin Laboratory is a wonderful company to work with....very quick shipment, packaged well, love the detailed instructions that come along. The results.....Whoa! My nose has been bothering me a great deal....those darn blackheads.....my pores have been enlarging.......I've tried other products to fight these symptoms, Dr. Perricone and Dr. Denese....both have good products but This Peel is solving the problem and fast too. Loving it! I have dry skin so I ordered and just received Skin Lab's lactic acid which is recommended for dryer skin. But glad I started with this formula for a boost and the lactic will hopefully maintain. Go for it ladies. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! This is potent stuff if you haven't used anything like it before. Go slow. I had a peel done in my dr's office a few years back and knew what to expect.....by the way, that simple peel was $125.00.

This is a great peel. It has never burned my skin & I use it as a spot treatment. I dot it on my blemishes & leave it on for 3-7 minutes & then I apply my skin lotion on top of my entire face. It has really made an improvement in my skin. I can honestly say that it clears blemishes fast! I have tried many, many products to clear my skin & nothing has worked as well as this! You won't be disappointed.

Ok...never tried an at-home salicylic peel but this was pretty good. The directions said to use to before the acid peel (and Acid/Beta peel) but I wasn't sure about the pH or the sensitivity of my skin to this stuff.
Although--I plan to try a salicylic/glycolic peel back to back I feel as if I may have to use a weaker salicylic. My glycolic peel is strong (40-50%) and I'm scared that it may overwhelm my skin.
Anyway--I've never done a full-face salicylic peel.
I peel section of my face but I mainly use the salicylic for spot treatments once a week (i apply with a q-tip). You have to assess your own skin sensitivity to see what you can/can't handle but salicylic can be left on the skin as a spot treatment.
***Just don't try this with Lactic or Glycolic acid.***

I bought this product about 2 weeks to ago and already I see and difference in my over skin appearance. I have suffered from acne since the age of 11 and have done all the usual to help clear up my skin condition with little result. However, after two or three peels using this product I see a difference. My skin is smoother. I have minimal underthe surface pimples. Unfortnately, I am a squeezer so i do have some acne scars especiall around my jaw line. However, I see these are lighter. I am so pleased. I also use the lactic peel.

I don't have sensitive skin and had no problem tolerating the product, but I didn't see any difference with my acne. My pores may be smaller now, but it's hard to tell. I wouldn't purchase it again.

I decided to try this product. I am starting to see the wrinkles and fine lines. I definitely felt the stinging/burning sensation the first time I tried it. I could only keep it on for 1 minute. I've been doing this treatment for a few weeks now, once a week. I'm not sure if I see the difference, but my co-worker said my face looked different. After using the product a few more times, I can tolerate the stinging for longer now, I'm up to 3-4 minutes now. I haven't had any recent acne break-outs so I am assuming this is a contributing factor.

I love this product. The first time I used it I only left it on for One Minute so i could see how my skin would respond. I was nervous about my skin peeling and looking scarey for work, but there was absolutely no irritation, and now I leave it on for a full 10 minutes, without any peeling. I notice great results in my skin texture and tone. It works well on blackheads, as well as past acne scars and discoloration. LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I never had much acne growing up, but it would seem that each little pimple left a mark on my face. Most of the people I know kept telling me that the scars were "barely" noticeable. Still, noticeable enough for me. So I went through a laser treatment and I noticed an improvement of 30% to 50%. I wasn't impressed: scars were there still.
So I did a bit of research and bought this product. I was reluctant to use since my skin is very fair and sensitive. To my surprise, I was able to handle it very well: ten minutes, twice a day. After nearly a month of use, I can say that many small scars have disappeared and the big ones look flatter and softer. I will keep using this product for sure!
Note: Don't expect results overnight, you have to be very constant and wait at least 3 weeks or so to see how it works.

This peel is just perfect. It not only works on the scars but also helps control acne. I've used it for 4 weeks now (applying it once a week ), and haven't had a single new breakout. The peeling is subtle, but none of my blemishes are visible anymore.
Although the instructions say not to keep it on for more than 5-7 mins, I keep it on for 2 hours. I'm not saying everyone should do that. (I did try keeping it on for 10mins for the first time and nothing happened). Maybe it's because my skin is used to salicylic acid.
I have been using the Neutrogena 2% salicylic products for three years with no great results. And this peel worked wonders in a month. Needless to say, I've discontinued using them.
Also, the processing was pretty fast. Got it in four days flat.
All in all, a wonderful product.

I have had a few professional salicylic peels done previously, and although this is not as strong, it does a good job of smoothing my skin and shrinking pimples. I like to rotate this with a lactic glycolic peel, leaving a day or two in between for recovery.

I received the product as it was advertised but so far have seen very little results. Judging from the reviews for this product, everyone needs to find the right way to use it for themselves. Instructions it comes with vary from what many out here have said they do with the same product. Try it at a couple minutes to be safe and go up from there. I'm up to using it for 10 minutes every few days.

Good Treatment with Current Regime

I have to preface this review with the fact that I use other skin care and health products namely Retin-A Micro, b-control, and a good moisturization regime. Also, I have sensitive and oily skin. Moreover, I have medium-dark brown skin (for a color reference it would be Bare Escentual's golden dark), so for those with skin like mine I know how important it is to hear from someone like me.
For those who have not ever had a peel I would not recommend starting out with this. The skin needs time to acclimate to salicylic acid like any strong acid. However, for those who have been getting peels of %10 or more I would recommend using this peel. Follow the directions precisely. This skin laboratory peel does not self neutralize (like perfect peel, which is much like the professional peels), so you can time it to where your skin has more absorption. Basically, the longer you keep it on the more concentrated the peel gets (if you will). It is good to use when you have a large (cystic) pimple. It is also good for exfoliating the skin after using retin-a. The best advice I can give for this product and any peel is moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Do not peel the dead skin because this can cause more scarring: put simply apply a good moisturizer. This product of course will not give you dramatic results immediately. It is an overtime product. I highly recommend stepping up to 30% and then higher (for African descendant skin please do within reason). I also recommend still using this once you have stepped up to help refresh the skin.
This product is good for smoothing and tightening of the skin within three days, but again couple this with a good skin care regime. This peel alone will not help, but with other hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic products your skin will look nice! Good luck and God Bless.

I first received this as a sample with my purchase of the glycolic acid. I like this much better! After my sample bottle ran out I purchased the 100ml and I am SO glad I did! I have mild acne but it flares up every once in a while and this not only killed my flare ups but has kept any kind of pimple at bay. It is more than tolerable on my skin and has a nice minty clean feeling after I rinse it off. My skin has never glowed as much as it does now since I've been using this. No more special cleansers, just normal bar soap. I started off with once or twice a week and now I use it maybe 3 or 4 days a week. I am going to continue purchasing this.

I just tried out the Salicylic20% peel and I'm surprised that it worked out good for the first try. People must of been expecting too much from it on its first try. My skin has never felt that smooth and refreshed in a long time. I was able to leave it on for 10min(could of gone longer) and didnt experience any irriation. I also have sensitive skin! Got my item on time and in good packaging.

I got salicylic acid 20% and lactic acid 70%. The products came with very great instructions. Be sure you use a good moisturizer so your face doesn't feel uncomfortably tight (Johnson & Johnson's Clean & Clear Shine Control is a good one for those of us who have oily skin & breakouts). It's best to use these acids when you have at least a week for your skin to finish peeling B4 you go out.

I started having problems with adult onset acne at about age 25 - am now 40. Have tried everything - oral antibiotics, topical antibiotics, retin-a, etc. etc. Despite trying numerous dermatologists, I never got what I considered good results - just a three minute visit and a couple of scripts. Decided to try this - at the price, nothing to lose. Man am I pleased. For the first time, acne is resolved (I have used the peel once a week for about six weeks). My scarring is improved and my skin tone is becoming much more even. Even improving my melasma. I would highly recommend this product. Word of caution. Acne will worsen after the first treatment - wait it out - it will improve Dramatically..

I used a wide-tip paint brush, poured a little of this acid in a glass container, and painted it on. The first time I left it for 15 minutes, the second and third times I left it on for about 30. I should have bought the 30% because it doesn't burn how other people have reported, but it does make my complexion clear for a while. Makes me look younger for sure.. I love this product and will continue the application, but with the stronger dose next time. But for people with delicate skin this is probably very good.

This 20% salicylic acid peel works far better than any of its weaker friends could. It burns like crazy when you have it on, but as soon as you rinse it off you notice you skin looks fantastic and glowing.
You will notice it continuing to work all week as your pores become unclogged.
You only have to use it once a weak, which is great, and you use so little that this bottle will last forever.
Next to daily use of prescription strength retinol, this is the best thing i've ever tried for clearing up skin, and it doesn't make your skin flake off in a noticeable and unwanted way.
I highly recommend it (but only if you can stand the discomfort of application for a few minutes a week) :-)

I think I probably should have gotten the 30% salicylic acid. I've used it 3 times (once per week as the instructions recommend), but I haven't seen any results. Some websites suggest using it twice a week, so maybe I will try that.

This is another peel I use besides the Lactic one. This is a much gentler peel and used it a few times before going on the more agressive one. This is also a great product with little or no sting. I left it on for 7 minutes the first time with no discomfort. Always follow your peel with a PH balancer and a good moisture cream and use the moisture cream daily, at least once a day to prevent dryness. The results are worth the time you spend on yourself and your skin will love you for it. If I can do this at 71 and see the benefits, anyone can.

Great Product on Ebony Skin

I started getting acne young, when i was about 10 and i didnt know how to look after my skin then. No cleansing, toning or even moisturizing because i thought that would give me more spots, what a fool i was.
The problem with black skin is that it hyperpigments easy and by the time i was 21 i couldnt bare to look at myself in the mirror, i had so many acne scars i couldnt stand it. Dermatologists were no help, the pills and creams are useless if you dont have a good skin care regimen which is something the doctors dont usually tell you.
In 2001 called around and was told by everyone on Harley Street that dermabrasion and skin peels were not for black skin tones so i paid £1800
for lazer treatment. It worked to some extent, the spots went and my skin looked clearer but if i had known about this product i wouldnt have bothered.
The truth is that these skin acids can and are used safely on ebony skin tones and have been for years. I am a caramel complexion (like Tyra Banks), my first peel ever was the Skin laboratoty 70% lactic acid peel and i experienced no problems at all, just be sure to follow the instructions. My second peel was the salicylic 20% peel by Skin Laboratory and my skin looks great. My skin is visibly clearer, lighter due to the fact that the hyperpigmentation is fading, i just look great and i'm so happy. And for the price, its a bargain compared to £200 per month on microdermabrasion or £1800+ for a course of lazer treatments. I would highly recommend both the product and the company. I honestly cant imagine my life without these peels now, i'm totally smitten.

For me there never has been any product which, all by itself, has totally prevented break-outs. But this salicylic acid peel definitely does help: skin is somewhat smoother. I use several products so it is admittedly difficult to determine how much of the benefits are attributable to this product versus the others. I started using this peel once a week for five minutes per the instructions but can see after a couple of sessions that I can leave it on longer (15+ minutes) and use it more frequently (my skin is not especially sensitive-- I have been using products like Tretinoin and Glycolic Acid lotion for years). This peel also improves the skin on the backs of my hands! I will definitely purchase again when I use up my first bottle.

I didn't quite know what to expect when I bought this. After reading instructions I gave it a shot, it burns somewhat but no worse then putting a liquid bandaid on. After three days or so I noticed the top layer of my skin was starting to peel. Week and a half of using it every other day and my skin has peeled twice and returned to normal.
I can tell the difference, like one reviewer noted yes it doesn't completely get rid of a scar but it did what it was supposed to, blend it in a lot better. Newer scars are completely gone, older one faded just a bit. I would buy this again.

I've had a pimple problem for years. After years of trying different brands of items, going to doctors, nothing really works for me. I accepted the fact that I couldn't "stop" pimples.
The truth is pimples stay present for a small period of time on a person's face. What stays for a longer time are the scars left after pimples.
This product is said to remove the scars after a pimple has come and gone. Honestly, it does peel some skin off the scar, but the scar never really goes away. I followed specific instructions that came with the product and I wasn't able to get the results promised. My pimple scar seems like it looks a bit better, but that's it. I can still see it clearly.
I wouldn't recommend this product. Do some of your own research and try to find some competitive products that work better.
